Baseball at St Mary's caters for young children through to adults. The youngest players usually begin with Tee-Ball, where the ball sits on a tee rather than being pitched, then move into junior baseball as they develop. The club runs “Come and Try” Tee-Ball and Baseball days at Monfarville Reserve, normally over July and August before the summer season. These sessions are free, no gear required, and the best way to see whether your child enjoys it before signing up.

Not at all. The club welcomes complete beginners every season, and the junior program is built to teach the game from the ground up: throwing, catching, hitting and the basic rules. Coaches and managers are used to families who are new to the sport, and plenty of parents learn alongside their kids.

It depends on which baseball you play. Junior baseball runs through summer (roughly August to March) in the Greater Western Baseball Association. Seniors, Women’s and Masters teams play in Sydney Metro Baseball across both summer and winter, so there is baseball at the club for most of the year. Registration generally opens a few weeks before each season starts.

Plan for one weekly training session and one game per week during the season, usually on weekends for juniors. Games can be home or away within the association. As with any community club, the Saints run on volunteers, so families are encouraged (not required) to help with scoring, canteen, coaching support or team management. Even small contributions keep the club running and the fees affordable.
